Our canicross season has begun! First Igloo made her debut at NESDC's Freetown Frolic in Assonet, MA. The event was a full-on sled dog race so canicross was 2 days, 2.5 mi each day. Ig did pretty well day 1 but kinda got lost in her own mind on day 2. It was a tough event for a younger dog because there weren't a ton of entries so we ended up kinda out there by ourselves and she lost some momentum because of it (plus it was a bit warm). For Ig, we'll practice running in groups for a bit so we have people to chase and help her build some confidence.
E-Claire made her canicross debut @ Dixon's Revenge & crushed it! Course was crazy (mud puddles to my thigh, roots & so forth) but she powered through and pulled me through to the finish. Good girlie!
